Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) is an innovative self-care practice that taps straight into the nervous system to release deep muscular tension, chronic stress, and many forms of trauma.
We'll begin with a history of the practice as well as gain a basic understanding of nervous system responses and how they impact everything we do. Together, we’ll then go through a series of exercises that activates your body’s natural mechanism for discharging excess tension which has accumulated over a life's worth of fight/flight/freeze responses.
TRE is easy to learn and then execute on your own so you have a go-to method for stress relief. Tremoring allows us to naturally shift into a healthy parasympathetic nervous system state, bringing about lower blood pressure and heart rate, slower respiration, and greater coherence between all systems of the body. Reclaiming this mechanism and the bio-intelligence of our tissues allows us to move beyond mere surviving into thriving.
This simple, yet profound practice is great for active individuals as a post-workout tool for releasing excess muscular tension, but has been used in over 60 countries for recovery from chronic stress and post-trauma symptoms due to life-in-general, accidents, natural disasters and political violence.
