About the Event
Awareness is the first step to transforming anything.
Every single one of us, no matter our history or what our day-to-day life is like, is holding tension just beneath the surface of our consciousness. This tension can create everything from imbalanced movement patterns, to illness, to undesired reactions during stressful circumstances or toward people in our lives.
Clinical Somatics is a practice that releases subconscious tension through felt-sense awareness and brings the body back to neutral.
In Clinical Somatics, we use super slow movement so members can sense where they are holding tension, become aware of patterns in their movement that are no longer serving them, and ultimately let them go.
Each class has a different focus, and can range from relaxing for bed to re-educating patterns at the level of the nervous system. Regardless of the focus of the class, students will leave with a whole new level of understanding of themselves, their movement, and their relationship to the world.
This gentle movement practice can be structured for any body, regardless of physical ability.
