About the Event

Our team members wanna hang with you, so we've created a series of happy hours for our community. This is a great opportunity to meet Comfy's movement guides on a personal level and for us to deepen our relationship with YOU in a way we aren't able to while teaching class.

Every one of our movmement guides has an incredible background of experience and education, not to mention we all take part in several activities outside of the Comfy umbrella. Our individual intersts are highly influential in how we show up to teach and the lens through which we each view our vocation...

Each monthly happy hour in the series will be hosted by one of our guides individually.

This month's host with the most is Alexis Koran! Some extra tidbits on Alexis that may come as a surprise or make you realize you have more in common than you knew:

  • Grew up in Cleveland, spent 16 years in Chicago then moved to Oregon (and lived with Buddhist monks) before returning to Cleveland at the beginning of the pandemic to be with family.
  • Longtime Comfy Fitness client! The early days of my embodiment journey were spent in the sunny, Bucktown studio of Comfy's brick and mortar.
  • One of the most important roles Alexis plays is 'Aunt Babe' to their sister's children.
  • Alexis has been a student of tarot for almost fifteen years and incorporates it into their own spiritual practices, and it serves as the lens for all BQY classes.
  • For ten years (a long time ago) they were an award winning Scottish Highland dancer.
  • Voracious reader! And ongoing foster volunteer for the Animal Protective League.

To celebrate Alexis' appetite for books they are making this Happy Hour a book club of sorts - though having read the book is totally not required in order to attend! They’ll be talking about the best book they read this year: Stolen Focus. You can order the book from a local shop here if interested.
