About the Event

Have you heard? The nervous system is the new black.

Western science has a habit of disregarding the importance of that which it cannot see. And even though the human nervous system can actually be looked upon, its function is far more ephemeral than bones and organs. As the operating system for our entire body, there's not a piece of us that the nervous system isn't driving.

So when it comes to improving our overall wellbeing, working with the nervous system is imperative!

Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) is an innovative self-care practice that taps straight into the nervous system to release deep muscular tension, chronic stress, and many forms of trauma.

We'll begin with a history of the practice as well as gain a basic understanding of nervous system responses and how they impact everything we do. Together, we’ll then go through a series of exercises that activates your body’s natural mechanism for discharging excess tension which has accumulated over a life's worth of fight/flight/freeze responses.

TRE is easy to learn and then execute on your own so you have a go-to method for stress relief. Tremoring allows us to naturally shift into a healthy parasympathetic nervous system state, bringing about lower blood pressure and heart rate, slower respiration, and greater coherence between all systems of the body. Reclaiming this mechanism and the bio-intelligence of our tissues “literally embodies our deepest urge for survival, and more profoundly, our elemental desire to flourish.”

This simple, yet profound practice is great for active individuals as a post-workout tool for releasing excess muscular tension, but has been used in over 60 countries for recovery from chronic stress and post-trauma symptoms due to generalized life situations, accidents, natural disasters and political violence.

*** If you register and can no longer attend, email us to release your ticket. We have had past instances of several people on a waitlist and half the registered attendees do not show up. Please be considerate of your impact on the whole.
