About the Event
Most people jump into activities, even exercise and weight training activities, without really knowing what muscle groups they're targeting; how those muscles feel, where they begin and end, and what assists and opposes them. When we understand and experience muscles in their fullest and most limited expressions, we can truly harness their strength.
In each Somatic Strength session we will explore different muscle groups, get present to how they feel when they are being contracted, stretched, and released, and experiment with how they show up with different relationships to gravity. You will start to understand the mechanics of your body on an intimate, somatic level.
All levels of fitness are welcome and modifications are available for almost every circumstance. This class will be challenging, so be sure to wear clothing you can move in and bring water for hydration.
