About the Event
The effects of burnout are considerable: fatigue, anxiety, difficulty focusing, loss of creativity, muting of emotions, lack of joy. When we run on empty too long and maintain expectations for normal levels of production, burnout is sure to follow.
But here’s the thing, what is considered to be normal productivity within capitalism is egregious to begin with. In this workshop, we’ll practice the art of doing less.
The way we’ve been conditioned to overdeliver throughout our lifetimes is a difficult habit to break, but one that ultimately results (100% of the time) in burnout. Using an active hatha flow to get into the body, we’ll use the spiritual technology of yoga to connect mind, body and spirit. We’ll also intentionally move at less than 50% of our ‘full effort’ which allows us to absorb within our bodies the experience of doing just good enough, contrary to our draining, perfectionist habits.
We’ll close with some longer, restorative postures to replenish energy and integrate our work.
